The line graph below shows the quantity of wheat exports from 1985 to 1990.
The graph illustrates the amount of wheat which was exported in three regions namely Australia, Canada, European Community between 1985 and 1990.
In general, there was a gradual growth in the amount of wheat exports in European Community and a gradual drop in that of Australia, while in Canada there was a wild fluctuation over a 5-year period. However, the amount of wheat exports in European Community was the highest at the end of the period.
Starting as the biggest wheat exporter, the quantity of wheat exported decreased slightly before rising dramatically and reached the peak of 25 million of tonnes in 1988. A rapid fall was witnessed in the next year, which followed by a minimal climb to its starting point at 20 million of tonnes.
In 1985, European Community was the second wheat exporter followed by Australia. The amount of wheat exported in European Community declined slightly until it rose again before remaining the same at 15 million of tonnes which was 10 million lower than that of Canada in 1988. Two years later, a gradual increase was experienced in the amount of wheat exports in European Community where it hit a peak of 20 million of tonnes. In contrast, there was a steady drop in the amount of wheat exports in Australia over the researched period as it reached a lowest point of roughly10 million of tonnes in 1990.
