The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in USA since 1980 with projections unitl 2030.
The line graph illustrates the US energy consumption by fuel since 1980 with future projection until 2030.
Most noticeably of all, it can be seen that from 1980 to 2015 maximum energy ws consumed through petrol and oil about (35 quadrillion unit and 42 quadrillion unit respectively). Though until 1995 there was fluctuation than it followed upward trend;however, it is predicted that it will hike to 47 quadrillion unit in 2030.while the least energy was derived from hydropower, followed by Solar/Wind and Nuclear. Until 1985, energy used from all these three source was relatively constant at 3qd than in present energy consumed through nuclear and solar/wind went up to 7qd unit and 4qd unit respectively ;however, it is predicted to hike in 2030, reaching 7qd unit and 5 qd unit respectively. Whilst the energy consumption from hydropower has fallen back to 1980;3qd and predicted to stay stable in 2030.
In 1980 about 20qd unit and 17qd unit energy was consumed from natural gas and coal respectively but energy used through natural gas slumped while coal increased, remained same between 1985 to 1990 than both fluctuated rising up and stay equal in present at 24qd unit. In 2030 it is predicted that energy consumption from coal will hike drastically to 28qd, whereas natural gas will be at same quadrillion unit as present in 2030.
To sum up, USA energy consumption is increasing rapidly and will hike in future. It may result in the limitation of fossil fuel for upcoming generation
