To be more precise, in the year 2000, the majority of the residents in Yemen were between 0 to 14 years old, with 50.1% compared to just over 14,3% in Italy. The lowest populations of Yemen were the people who over 60 years old at 3.6%, whereas 14.3% of people below 14 years old were the weakest numbers in Italy. The largest group for Italy was the 15-59-year-old with 61.6% while Yemen had 46.3& of its population in this category.
Furthermore, the experts predicted the middle age group in Yemen will increase by 57.3%, and the citizens who below 14-year-old will be plummeted down to 37% in 2050. The proportion of over 60s is growing by just over 2%. Whereas in Italy, there will be a jumping growth to 42.3% of the 60s elderly, the percentage of those in the youngest category will drop to
11.5% and a 46.2% fall in the ratio of the group between 15 to 59-year-old.
In conclusion, there is an upward trend of the elderly above their 60's in both countries.
