The two bars graph compares the ground water and public supply yearly consumption in seven different countries. According to the legend, the light shaded colour represents the groundwater whilst the dark shaded represents the water public supply.
According to the ground water chart, the top 3 industries having the highest water consumption per annum are chemical, metal and paper industries with 430, 240 and 190 million cubic meters respectively, Next is the food and drink business with 110 million cubic meters, whilst the fuel and the textiles industries have the same water usage. However, the machine industry is the lowest water ground used with only 10 million cubic meters.
Compared to the public supply chart, the majority of consumptions goes also to the chemical industry, whereas food and drinks is the second highest with 190 million cubic meters. Third amongst the top users is the machine industry with 100 million cubic meters, followed by metal with only 10% difference compared with the latter. Then the last two are the fuel and the textiles industries which also have the same consumption per year with 10 million cubic meters.
To sum up, amongst seven countries compared the chemical industry has the highest level of usage, whist the fuel and textiles industries have the lowest consumption in both categories.
