The diagram provides data on the age groups attending the cinema in Australia in the range of two decades starting in 1990. There are four different age groups, from 14-year-olds to 50 and above.
Looking into the graph, it is noticeable that the cinema is packed mostly with youngsters of 14 up to 24-year-olds. Beginning at 90% and through fluctuation, this status stayed constant for twenty years. In contrast, the oldest group remained to be the group with the least interest in cinema although there was a quite significant rise over the two decades.
The attendance percentage of the group of 35 to 49-year-olds was projected to increase from 60% in 1990 to 85% in 2010. On the other hand, the attendance percentage of the 25 to 34-year-olds age group had a gradual increase from 1990 to 2000. However, starting then, its percentage was projected to go downhill in 2010.
