The reading and listening are aruging over the questions whether human are capable to land on the venus' surface. The passage author lists out three main problems for landing. In contrast, the lecturer proposes a way for coping with these problems. He mentions that scientists should think about esablishing a station on the atmospher like a ballon instead of landing on the land.
First, based on the passage, the pressure of venus is too much and it cuases the objects to be crushed. The lecturer, however, states that the pressure of the venus atomospher declines by increasing the height and the station can be established in 15 kilometeres height. At the same height the pressure of the venus' atmospher is as much as the earth. Therefore, there is no dangerous problems for humans and equipments.
Second, the passage author mentions that there is no water, water vapor in venus and it is impossible to transport foods and water regularly from earth to venus. On the contray, the lecturer suggest a solution for this problem. He asserts that there are enough materials lkie carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid in the venus atmospher. In this respect, the austronant are able to produce water with some chemical actions. Hence, the water can be obtained with some chemical actions.
Third, the author believes that the solar power cells cannot be used on the venus surface, since there is not eough solar radiations. Nevertheless, the lecturer point out a station on a top location is a good solution. Since the station in that postion not only receives enough radations from sun directly but also receives the reflected redations by thick clouds on the bottom of the station.
