The diagram depicts the circulation of Earth's water by water cycle.
Overall, the water cycle has three main steps including evaporation, clouds formation and rain. The poured down water goes into air again and cycle continues.
To begin, sun rays triggers evaporation. In this process, a massive amount of water from water bodies like rivers, lakes and seas is converted into water vapours. Also, different flora of earth contributes to vapour formation in atmosphere by transpiration process. These vapours are condensed into clouds by wind and low temperature of earth's atmosphere. Moreover, air current moves clouds around the globe where a further fall in temperature causes cooling effect and precipitation.
As a result of precipitation of clouds, rain pours down. The rain water falls on ground and is absorbed by huge porous rocks underneath earth surface. Subsequently, these rocks return water to rivers and lakes from where it is partially streamed into ocean and eventually evaporated to ensure continuation of water cycle.
