Violence in the media promotes violence in society.
To what extent due yo agree?
The role of media in spreading inhuman activities among the society through different broadcasting mediums has been a subject of debate during recent years. It might be because of uncontrollable spread of all sorts of news without age and group restriction to the common man, which may bring harmful effects to the society. Despite of having some veracity in the subject of debate, I partially agree with this statement that media has been playing as a tool to spread brutal behaviors in the masses, due to the fact that other elements of society such as unemployment and distorted family relationships cannot be ignored in growing violence.
It is true that media has been one of the factors which have been spreading barbaric activities in the people, however the blessings of media such as spreading awareness in society for women rights and child rights always balance these violent activates. In my opinion, a ruthless display by police on common man displayed on television cannot compel other citizens to be violent of same degree with police. In reality, other agents such as unemployment is one of prime factors which lead a man to indulge in inhuman activities in order to gain worldly benefits.
Secondly, the slanted family values have made this world a jungle, where people hardly coordinate with family member even on dining tables. Isolated persons are more prone to be brutal than those who have strong ties with their family members. The relationship helps to share sorrows and fight depression in the society.
To sum up, I agree to this statement up to some extent that media is one of the factors which helps to spread barbarism, however other factors such as unemployment and warped family values play a key role in developing violent behavior among people.
