The chart given illustrates the average annual Gross Domestic Product growth in wealthy countries, globalisers and non- globalisers for over 40 years.
It can be seen that three different types of countries fluctuated throughout the year while the globalisers reached the highest peak in the 1990s.
In the 1960s, the data for wealthy countries was the highest at nearly 5 percent, which was double than that for the non-globalisers and nearly five folds than that for the globalisers. By the 1970s, wealthy countries had a sharp decrease to 3 percent and gradually fell to 2 percent in the end of period.
By contrast, the GDP growth in the globalisers increased steadily from about 1,2 percent to 3 percent and then nearly reached the top of 5 percent in the 1990s. In the countries adopting a non- global approach to business, the GDP fell to under 1% in the 1980s and rose slightly to about 1,5 percent in the 1990s.
