you work for an international company, and would like to spend six months working in its head office in another country.
Write a letter to your manager. In your letter
Explain why you want to work in the company’s head office for six months
Say how your work could be done while you are away
Ask for him/her help in arranging it
Dear Mr. Roberts,
I am writing to ask for an opportunity to work in our head office in the United States for six months. Working with our team in the past 5 years, I was able to dealt with the majority of the projects I was assigned, and was commented as hardworking and dedicated. In the email our Human Resource manager send to the employees last week, there is 6 month position available for internal employees. The job description is very similar to what I am in charge of right now but requires a more comprehensive market research. I think it is a perfect chance to further improve performance on conducting a research, and I could also show what I learnt to other coworkers when I am back.
If I could get the opportunity, Sarah who is my assistant will take part of my work, and we will keep in touch on a daily basis while I am away to make sure that things are going smoothly in the office.
I greatly appreciate if you could talk to the Human Resource manager to figure out the best time for the 6 month position.
Thank you for your time and consideration and I look forward to your reply.
Yours sincerely,
Amanda Hardy
