These two charts illustrate the number of UK postgraduate and graduate students who left college in 2008 for different purposes such as part-time work, further study and so on excepting full-time work intention. Overall although the total number of graduate students in these four categories much more than the other groups, the distribution of these two groups in the four categories was almost similar to each other. In addition, further study and voluntary work were the most and least popular destinations among the groups of students, respectively.
After leaving college in 2008, near thirty thousand UK, graduate students continued their studies in further areas; however, just about one in ten of this number took part in voluntary works as the least popular destination. Similarly, most of the students about 2700 in the postgraduate group chose further study destination while voluntary work was attended by approximately three hundred students.
The proportion of UK postgraduate students in each category was followed by a similar pattern with the other group. Graduate students who went into part-time jobs numbered 17,735 as a second-most chosen destination. Although this statistic belongs to postgraduate was just over 2500, that far much less, the proportion of them was significantly higher compared with graduate students who had part-time jobs.
