The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagram illustrates the projected enhancements in Islip's town centre. Generally, it appears to be a modernization project of infrastructure of the city, as well as the construction of some buildings and roads, that mainly will occupy most of the countryside.
The main road in the middle of the town centre is going to be for pedestrians only. Moreover, a dual-ring road circumnavigating the whole centre will be built. The project will add new housings, where the new road can pass through them. Besides, another new housing will be built on the eastern countryside. The area where most of the new buildings are going to be built is north of the main road. A parking, where cars arriving from the new road can park, is located west of the new housing. Furthermore, a bus station will be added in the northwestern part of the countryside. In between the car parking and the bus station, there will be a new shopping centre. Meanwhile the two entrances to the city - from East and West _ will remain the same.
