transport
The bar chart reveals statistics about the number of travelers who go to work by four separate types of vehicles, namely bus, car, bike and foot during a 40-year period from 1950 to 1990.
Overall, as can be inferred from the graph, at the end of the period, private cars accounted for the majority of transportation in the country. By contrast, bike stood at the lowest position compared with other models of transport.
Looking at the bar chart in more detail, we can clearly see that in the year 1950 the first ranking in the transportation was walking due to the underdevelopment of vehicles, followed by the second position, bike, at approximately 37 percent. Additionally, the proportion of bus travelers was around 12 percent lower than that of bike. Car witnessed the lowest number of travelers in 1950.
In details, there was a downward pattern in the years 1970. Meanwhile, bus made up the highest figure for travelers over the course at roughly 37 while walking stood in the lowest position in this field by 12 percent lower than bus. The figure for private car’s customers surpassed all other kinds of transport in 1990, another striking point is that the number of travelers who used cars to travel mirrored that of walking in the year 1950 at 40. There was a relatively similar trend in the proportion of travelers in the group of bike and foot, at 5 and 6 respectively.
