Summarize the points made in the lecture. Being sure to explain how they cast doubt on specific points made in the reading passage. The vessels in ancient time
The reading and lecture are both about the vessels, which they can produce an electric current. The author of reading believes that the vessels could not use as electric batteries in ancient times. The lecture challenges the statement made by the author. The professor is of the opinion that reading' reasons are inconceivable.
First of all, the author suggests that there is no evidence that can prove there were wires at that time because the vessels can just work with conductors such as wires. The statement is challenged by the lecture. She says that the vessels discovered by the local people that did had no knowledge about other materials which were located near the vessels, therefore, could not recognize them and probably thrown away.
Secondly, the writer contends that copper cylinders inside the jars are similar copper in Seleucia. The article notes these cylinders used for holding scrolls and they had not this power to generate electricity. The lecture, however, rebuts this by asserting that this speech is true, but some inventors latter realized that if you mix copper cylinder with an iron rod and some liquid, will create electricity. She elaborates on this by mentioning that the cylinders used originally for one goal then improved them to use for another purpose.
Finally, it is stated in the article that in ancient times there were no devices that depended on electricity. The lecture, on the other hand, posits that the vessels as the battery could produce mild shock, that it can convince evidence because in that time some people could persuade others that they had magical power with using battery. Also, she states that the electric could use for medicine purposes likewise contemporary period.
