Metro Systems
The table provides information regarding the distance of networks as well as the total of passengers of metro systems in four cities, Moscow, Seoul, New York and London. Then, the bar chart illustrates the proportion of public vehicles of all motorized travels.
In general, it is clearly seen that the length of networks did not give any effect on the number of passengers.
A more detailed look at the graph reveals that the longest network was owned by New York (420 kilometres) but carried only 1,159 million passengers annually (stood at third rank). The length of its network was followed by that of London (392 kilometres) which carried the slightest number of passengers (just 784 million). The other countries, Moscow that facilitated the biggest total of passengers (3,184) had 244 kilometres network and Seoul which had the shortest network (133 kilometres) brought 1,354 million passengers per year.
Furthermore, Japan had the biggest proportion of public transport as it took 46 of all motorized journey in that country. It was followed by Spain (27) which was halved by that of UK (14). The smallest proportion was in USA that just was 2.
