The reading passage proposes some solutions for preventing the frug population to decline since they are a considarable part of ecosystem. The lecture, however, casts doubt on the proposed solutions and offers come claims to refute them all. It is also mentiond in the lecture that not of ideas are practical.
First, the reading argues that more strict regulations which prohibit the farmers in frugs’ habitats from using harmful pesticides, which damage nervous system and make breathing difficult, lower the decrease of frug population. On the contrary, the cecturer is of the idea that since this method would be very expensive for the farmers of sush areas and they also would hervast far fewer products due to loss fo crops by pests, it is not economical for them. In adittion, she mentions that it is not fair for they can not compete with other farmers.
Next, the passage brings up the idea that treatment cam be effective in order to cure the diseases caused by a kind of toxic fungus which thicken the skin, and accordingly, dehydrates frugs’ bodies. In contrast, the professor highlights the fact that these treatments have to be applied individualy; therefore, capturing and treating each frug is an infeasible method. Moreover, she states that since the treatments do not transfer to the offsprings and every generation needs its own treatment it would be very expensive and difficult to impleament.
Finally, the passage mentions that drying the wet environments where are frugs’ habitates is another reason of population declination; consequently, preserving these environments can save frugs. Conversly, the speakerdismisses the issue due to the fact that most of the desication is caused by global farming and human activities which are of a smaller scale can not compensate for warming effects.
