the use of social media is replacing face-to-face interaction among many people in society. Do you think the advantages outweigh the disadvantage?
Using social networks has become the norm nowadays. However, some people think that it can replace face-to-face interaction between people in society. Although I agree social media can affect communication with many people, it reaps abundant benefits for society.
On the one hand, the social networking site is a product of technology development. Firstly, it plays a central role in accessing information. For instance, breaking news is updated to the minute and available for free, so keeping abreast of pressing issues now has never been simpler. Secondly, using social networks gets over difficulties about geographical barrier which also enable contact between people in society. Finally, numerous hospitals or schools become modernization by using media technologies in statistics.
On the other hand, using social media also takes a toll on face-to-face communication. For example, with the convenience of social media, people tend to use messages or icons to express their emotion instead of hanging out with others. Besides, people often hide behind the screen and lack of face-to-face interaction. Thus, people nowadays may face with loneliness and insensitiveness.
In conclusion, although it can be considered about drawbacks for face-to-face communication, unquestionable, using social media is advantageous for society.
