The below bar chart compares the percentage of offenders commit crimes in both genders over a period of one year.
Overall, the most noticeable point as i can see from the chart that both sexes engaged in violence had by far the highest number of wrongdoers. Meanwhile, the proportion of people commiting robbery accounted a minority over the shown period.
It is clear that violence against the person took up the largest law-breakers in comparision with others, at nearly 35%, which was 10 times higher than the number of people related to Robbery or Fraud and Forgery. Besides, the second place belonged to crime who were recorded by theft and handling stolen goods, standing at 30 % for men and 20% for women.
The percentage of male and female convicted other offences were similar, with 15% and 13% respectively, which doubled the number of drug offences in 2008. The number of men arrested by criminal damage and burglary were higher than that of women, standing at 10% and 7%, 8% and 3% respectively.
