The pie charts compare the proportion of students at one university in the UK who were able to speak languages other than English between 2000 and 2010
The pie chart illustrates the percentage of British students who can speak other languages besides English at a university in England in the years 2000 and 2010.
Overall, the amount of bilingual students with the ability to speak Spanish solely accounts for the largest proportion in both years, while the two smallest parts that remained stable over the period shown were German only and Two other languages.
In 2000, there was 20% of British students at this university can just speak English, while this figure for British students speaking only French made up 15%. With the same abatement, these numbers dropped to exactly 10% after 10 years. British students with the ability to speak only German and bilingual ones together kept the lowest percentage, at 10% in 2000. These two figures remained constant after 10 years.
On the other hand, British students at this university being able to speak only Spanish and use another language alternatively occupied 30% and 15% in 2000, correspondingly, then jointly jumped by 5% after a decade.
