The graphs below shows the average CO2 emissions per person in the UK, Sweden, Portugal ,and Italy from 1967 to 2007 .
The line chart illustrates the typical CO2 emissions individually in Britain, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal for over 40 years, starting in 1967.
Overall, amongst the four categories that rose significantly on CO2 emissions, Sweden went down , whereas in the United Kingdom remained steadily the highest emissions throughout the period.
The vast majority of emissions was in the United Kingdom with recorded data to around 11 metric tonnes and later on fell up to 8 metric tonnes suddenly. However, this marked the largest value emitted per person during the entire year. Similarly, Sweden began with just between 8-10 metric tonnes for 10 years. In 1977 onwards, figures declined slowly until nearly 6 metric tonnes the same with Portugal in the end year.
Italy and Portugal had the same trend of moving up figures from just above 4 and a metric ton relatively. Although the former category made the third rank of emissions it finished as the second, while Portugal and Sweden on the bottom.
