The plans below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the samepark today. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The two maps describe the changes of Grange Park from its beginning in 1980 to today.
Overall, it can be seen that there was a significant re-arrangement in the seating area while the entrances and one minor garden remained the same. The park also added and expanded the entertainment areas which included some facilities.
The most substantial transformation of the park is the location of the old fountain and the left side of the park where used to have a stage for musicians. At the present, in the center of the park which was located by a fountain was replaced by a large rose garden surrounded by many seats while the previous stage has been turned into a much larger amphitheatre.
The entrances in the middle have remained unchanged but on the right side, the rose garden has been taken over by a cafe. There is now a children’s play area where a pond for water plants used to be. Instead of the pond, a water feature has been built occupying the bottom right corner which was displaced by a glasshouse and some seats. Finally, there is a new entrance for an underground car park in the lower right corner of the park.
