IELTS Task 1 - Food consumption in China, 1985 to 2010

The line graph shows information about the amount of meat, fish and salt consumed per person per week in China from 1985 to 2010. Overall, the food consumption in China increased over the period shown. In particular, the amount of meat and fish rose while the salt consumption experienced a steadily fall.
In 1985, the highest amount of food consumption was seen in fish, with around 600 grams/person/week. Meanwhile, the amount of salt and meat eaten per person per week were lower, just under 500 grams and about 100 grams respectively.
Five years after that, the amount of fish consumed experienced a small increase of 100 grams/person/week before dropping slightly back to 600 grams in 1995. However, for the next 15 years, there has been a steadily increase in the fish consumption to reach nearly 850 grams per person per week. Similarly, the amount of meat eaten by one person per week rose slowly to 200 grams in 2010. In contrast, the consumption of salt fell steadily over a period of 25 years to reach around 200 grams per person per week.
