tpo 54 salinity

Essay topics:

tpo 54 salinity

Recently some controversy has been generated about how people can reduce the salt of lakes' water which called salinity, so they would save animals' lives. The reading states three possible ways that people could use to reduce the salinity of the lakes. However, the professor states that none of the possible ways that the author mensiones are practicle to use.

The first point of dispute is if removing of the salt in deslination facilities is a practical method. The lecturer explains that the direct extraction of salt is not a good way to remove the salt since it leaves some soild materials behind. These materials such as selinum can reach the air and people breath it in. Thus, that might lead to serious health issues. By contrast, the writer is simply content to accept the theory of the direct remaval of salt would reduce the lake's salt effectively.

The second controversial issue is about if pouring water form ocean could help to reduce the lakes' salt. According to the professor, wherase it is true that adding ocean's water to the salty lakes will dilute the salt of the lakes, this process is costly. This is because it need pipe lines and canlas that constructed for really long distance, and government does not have enough amount of monay to do that. Interestinally, the author dose not seem bothered about the price of this method.

The final point of debate is the question of if buliding walls would be effective to decrease the lake's water salinity. The speaker says that this way is not actually durable becasue these wall probably will not last for a really long time. Some geological desaster could affect it negatively such as an earthquick. If that happened, the walls would be destroyed and the water of high salinity section would mix with low salinity water. Suprisingly, despite all these potential rationale, the author ignores all these possible explanations.
