Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
It is a good idea for the university to limit students’ working time.
Every one need to work to survive life. Students are not exception in this issue. While some people believe that students should work at the time they are studying, others states that student must send more time on studding rather than working. I personally think that working has many side effects from different aspects. In what follow, I will support my perspective.
The most significant reason is that students who work more than fifteen hours had an average degree of C. Despite the fact that a survey of students, eight of ten student work. Although, the part time work can help students to pay their bills but also have many side effects which is irreversible. They cannot concentrate on their study as much as other none working students do, In addition to that they do not have time to participate to study clubs to improve their knowledge. For example, there is a student in biology department who was first class student first year of college but he started to work as a part time in library from second year. As a result, he could not get high mark same as previous year.
Another most important factor is that the kind of work students use to do as student job will not help them while they graduate and seeking for job. Therefore, they lose the chances to find a job compare to other students. If they want good grade, they have to study hard and try twice than other students to reach high marks which in that situation they will face many health problems. For instances, one of best student in UBC college used to work during his studying. He was very dedicated student and he tried to have a good mark when he was working in university. As a result, after three or four months of continuing this way, they found him unconscious on floor so they took him to hospital. The doctor recommended him to get rest for a month to be recover and he mentioned that this weakness is because of no resting.
To sum up, reducing student work time can help them to concentrate on their study more and help them to balance their time between study and working. Getting good mark and finding good job is very essential in student’s life so they should not destroy it by working as student’s job. In this way they can manage their time between work and studying.
