The professor lectured on the topic given in the passage by discussing that many scientists are disagreed that the dinosars are endotherms. The argument provided by the professors are given below.
First of all, the passage mentioned that the polar dinosaurs' fossils have been discovered in polar regions explains that these dinosaurs can maintain the body temperature in cold climates which is one of the features of endotherms. However, the professor refuted this claim as the temprature of the polar region is believed to be more warmer when dinosars were there. Also, it is possible that these dinosaurs migrated to other place or hybrated as other reptiles in colder season.
Secondly, the passage suggested that the possition and movement of dinosaurs' legs allows sustained physical activity such as running. Though, the professor discussed that the legs of these dinosaurs are underneath the body to carry more body weight. So by giving alternate argument, it is clear that the dinosaurs are not endotherm.
At last, the passage mentioned haversian canals in order to explain how dinosaurs has similar bone structure as endotherms. Notwithstanding, the lecturer described the evidence against this argument. These dinosaurs have 'growth rings' which actually affect their body growth. In cooler time, the growth of bones of dinosaurs become slow or almost stop and in warmer time they show rapid growth. However, the endotherms grow despite any climate situations.
All in all, the professor has provided enough counter points to explain how dinosaurs are not endotherms. Thus, the passage seems not conclusive in order to explain its main point.
