Some particular schools in UK spent its annual expense on five main categories – Teachers’ salaries, Furniture and equipment, Resources e.g books, Other workers’ salaries and Insurance. This summary reports fluctuative trends among those categories during three decades from 1981 to 2001.
The top two of UK annual expense were Teachers’ salaries and Other workers’ salaries. Teachers’ salaries reached the top of school annual spending during three years. In 1981, it stood at 40% and rose slightly by the end of 1991 in 50%. Unfortunately, in 2001, it decreased 5%, and numbered in 45%. Other workers’ salaries took over the second place in 1981 and 1991 period within 28% and 22% spending respectively. However, in 2001 within its decline in approximate 7% from 22% to 15%, it stood at the third place.
Moving to the rest of necessity of school yearly spending in UK, those were Furniture and equipment, Resources and Insurance. In 1981, both Furniture and Resources were on equal position in 15% from total budget. This trend changed in 1991, Resources increased in about 5% when Furniture and equipment experienced a dramatical decrease from 15% to 5%. In 2001, Furniture and equipments percentage replaced by Resources from third place to second place. They were numbered in 23% and 9% respectively. The last one, Insurance, increased steadily during 1981, 1991, and 2001 within 2%, 3% and 8% respectively.
In conclusion, The top two of yearly spending budget were Teachers’ salaries and Other workers’ salaries when the rest were changing fluctuatively according to the school’s needs each year.
