While the reading state that the birds' population in the USA will decrease as a result of human activities, the lecturer expresses a different point of view.
First, the reading states that argue that the natural habitat of birds will decline due to human population growth and development which finally causes a decrease in the bird's number. However, the lecture disputes this point. he claims that the reduction of bird population will not uniform. some of the birds' populations will increase and some will decrease. Further, he mentions that urbanization will be better for some types and allow for its population to grow and secure a large habitat for it. Also, there are different types of birds that can be found now on the roads like hooks that can eliminate the rats and other rodents.
Secondly, the reading states that an increase in agricultural activities will coincide with the human population growth. Thus, birds' habitat decreases dramatically as a result of converting its habitat to agriculture use. However, the lecturer argues this point. He states that agriculture activity would be increased in the future but less land will be used. He explains that agriculture production will rise as a result of introducing new crops that are highly productive with less need for land.
Finally, the reading states that using pesticides to kill agricultural insects will also harm the birds unintentionally. On the other hand, the lecturer states that traditional pesticides cause the death of birds but it is changed now and the people solve this problem in two ways. new and less toxic pesticides are used. Also, genetically modifies crops are produced now which have the ability to resist the pesticide naturally.
