The table reveals data on how Canadians spend their free time in a year in terms of their age groups.
Overall, it is obvious that the most preferable leisure activity of people of all ages in Canada is watching TV or videos, while cinema is the less popular activity.
Looking at the graph in more detail, teenagers and 70-aged people invest almost the same amount of time in TV programs, with teens spending 1,200 hours and the elderly 100 hours less. On the other hand, cinema is the less desirable free time activity, since only teens spend 100 hours watching movies in the cinemas and all the other groups spend far few hours there.
Among the four other activities, the preferences depend on the age. In specific, it is clear that the two younger groups of teens and 20s spend more or less 400 hours on doing sports and socializing with 4 or more people, whereas the older groups spend roughly 200 hours in a year on socializing with 4 or less people and exercising on their own. By contrast, Canadians between 30 and 40 invest only 50 hours a year in socializing with 4 or more people, while those between 50 and 70 halve this time.
