Air purifiers are being used to protect our health from air pollution. Many different types of air purifiers have been invented for better effects. Here are some of the most widely used air purifiers.
HEPA filters are effective at removing allergens such as dust or pollens without producing secondary pollution. The folded fiber sheets of the HEPA filters trap toxic substances when the absorbed particles come into contact with the fiber. Once any large enough particle is absorbed, the filter will produce cleaner air in an eco-friendly way.
Ozone-generating air purifiers remove unpleasant smells and airborne chemicals. This can be done with the help of ozone, which creates a special reaction when it comes in contact with hazardous substances. Also, ozone has a pleasant smell like air fresheners. These two features of ozone-generating filters appeal to many customers.
UV air purifiers directly react with the air and remove harmful bacteria in it. It is especially useful when removing harmful microscopic particles in the atmosphere. This results in a better environment to live in with cleaner air to breathe. Moreover, UV air filters operate so quietly that it is hard to hear them working.
The article introduce the topic of various type of air purifiers used to protect and improve our health, also, air quality. Futhermore, article gives here three type of air purifiers which is commonly used. In the listening passage, however, the leturer is quick to point out some serious flaws in the air purifiers ability to clear air quality. In fact, the professor is also address, in detail, the trouble with each point made in the reading text.
First and foremost, the writer begins by HEPA filters is more specifically used to remove allergens like dust or pollens with the use of fiber sheet. Moreover, large particle is trape inside the filter is produce cleaner air in enviornment. In contrast, lecturer is dessonant is this viewpoint. He stated that the filter is protect from only large pathogens but small pathogens or virus can go through it.In addition, which ever pathogens less than 0.3 micrometer it can goes through filter can come back to environment. As a result it is not useful.
Secondly, the writer gave Ozone- generating air purifiers, he added that it remove the unpleasant smell and airbourne chemical from the surrounding and produce the pleasant smell. Again, the lecturer belives that there are blemishes in the given statement. The speaker added that ozone generating air purifiers is dangerous for humans. Furthermore, it can damage the various parts of body like eyes, liver, lung etc. Moreover, it has a toxic effect like gasoline or petrol material. So, it is more harmful than useful.
Lastly, the author brings the UV air purifiers,in this writer says that it react to air and remove harmful bacteria from the environment and gave the cleaner and better surrounding for breathing. Not surprisingly, the professor in the lecture disagree with this. He talk about that UV is very harmful for us. Furthermore, it does not remove the smells of cigarette or other gas. So, it is also not benefit for us.
