Many people believe that social networking sites(such as Facebook) have had a huge negative impact on both individuals and society.
To what extent do you agree?
In the digital era, it often argued that cutting edge social networks have a devastating impact on society and industrials. I partially agree that they have negative impact, while, I believe that it can brings positive impacts on individuals. In these following paragraphs, I will try to express clearly my position on this view by giving my personal statements
Nowadays, social networks especially, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram are cornerstone of our daily lifestyle. Firstly, communication has never been easier without social media. It means that people can keep in touch with relatives or friends who thousand miles away from them by just pressing a button on Facebook with no cost at all. Secondly, humans are able to find out news, phenomena which happened in another continent by just surfing the social media, like a Twitter or Instagram.
However, social networking sites have started breaking up the relationship. In the current time, people spend enormous time on Internet. Hence, they have no time to visit relatives or friends. As a result their relationship would devastated. Moreover, addiction is another negative affect of the social networks. There is no doubt that most people spend waste hours in front of computer or mobile phones for chatting or posting on Facebook despite of pay attention to their work. For instance, most students and workers failed in their exam or job interview because they spend more time online instead of studying. As a result, social networking sites negative affect to individuals and also community.
In conclusion, although Facebook and such sites are beneficial, I strongly agree with the argument that they have more detrimental effect on both community and the people. I hope that, users will realize it and use this kind of applications judiciously.
