The bar chart provided compares the proportion of human population in 1950 and 2002 in four countries, and a prediction in 2050.
Apparently, China was the most populated among four nations, whereas Japan had the lowest overall. Meanwhile, India appeared a different trend from other three countries.
Going into more details, in 1950 and 2002, China was the leading nation in terms of population percentage, in 22.5% and 20% respectively. It was predicted that the population ratio will drop 5% by 2050, almost 8% decrease from the highest. A similar trend was also recorded in Japan, but with a smaller change, from about 4% at first, 2.5% in the middle, and projected to be around 1% in 2050.
Although there was a little dwindle in USA from 1950 (7%) to 2002 (5%), the expected ratio remain unchanged in the future. In contrast, India appeared a total different picture that it increased in the two time-point and expected to reach a new high of 19% of the world population.
In summary, despite the huge difference in the population of China and Japan, they had a similar trend of decreasing, where India is expected continue growing in the future years.
