An analogy is drawn between the percentage of various age groups of British people who helped the charity by devoting money in 1990 and 2010.
To begin with, in 1990, the highest percentage belonged to people of age group 36 – 50 and the youth part of society (aged 18 to 25) had the lowest figures of charitable donations with the bottom value of 17 percent. People from 26 to 35 pushed the figures higher where the number reached about 31 percent. Moreover, as they grew older, this value gradually declined to 35 and that dropped even lower to 32 percent for age groups 51 – 65 and over 65 respectively.
Similarly, young people (aged 18 to 25) contributed the least in charity deeds in 2010, about 6 percent. Although middle-aged people had lower figures than that of middle-aged people in 1990, but they allocated more than youths, approximately 24 and 35 percent for age groups 26 – 35 and 36 - 50 respectively. Following this, people aged 50 to 64 peaked at 39 percent across all of the age groups while the recorded percentage of people over 65 was 35 percent.
To wrap up, a greater percentage of British people gave money to charity in 1990 than in 2010. However, across the two years, the pattern differs before and after the age of 50.
