The first chart below gives information about the money spent by British parents on their children’s sports between 2008 and 2014. The second chart shows the number of children who participated in three sports in Britain over the same time period.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
You should write at least 150 words.
The first line graph illustrates average spending of UK citizen on sporting activities of their children whereas the second line graph depicts the count of children who played three different games namely Football, Athletics, and Swimming between 2008 to 2014. Unit are given in pounds for first one and millions for second one respectively.
Overall, the amount of spending showed a considerable steady growth from the start of the period to the end. In regards to the second line graph, while football was the most preferred sport throughout the period, Athletics was the lest played game a the beginning. However, Athletics gained popularity at the middle of the period and turned to be the second favorite activities at last.
given a close look at the first graph, British parent spent 20 pounds in 2008 for children's sports activities which increased steadily throughout the period and hit a pick of about 32 pounds at the end .
On the other hand, coming to the various types of sports children played, it was easily evident that most of the children preferred football and their number was around 8 million at the beginning and increased approximately 1 million in 2014. Conversely, Athletics was played by only 1 million in 2008. This figure was platued until 2010, after which it climbed sharply to reach at 5 million in 2012 and ultimately dropped slightly in 2014. In comparison to the other two games, the number of swimming was pretty stable of 2 to 3 millions throughout the whole period.
