The map illustrates how the waterfront area of Darwin town changed after some developments over a period of five years, starting from 2009.
Overall, the waterfront area of Darwin experienced a considerable change during the given period. The noticeable differences were the appearance of green space and the construction of new buildings.
Regarding the north of Darwin, the amenities around the lake virtually remained unchanged from 2009 to 2014. Specifically, from the lake to the left-hand side, there was a school whereas on the opposite side located a swimming pool and a fishing area. In 2014, the town, however, witnessed the opening of a small swimming pool encircled by the footpath.
With respect to the south of the town, the industrial area was cleared to make way for more trees. Additionally, in 2014 a university building was erected in the west and the number of residential buildings was as twice as that of in 2009. A harbor which was connected to the main road by footpath was opened up in the southeast of Darwin.
