The diagram describes how carbonated drinks are manufactured. Basically, 5 stages are involved in the whole process, starting from water cleaning and finishing by packaging and transporting it to the final destination.
The first stage of producing carbonated drinks is named "water cleaning". Raw water flows through a filter to soften it and to add chemicals. Then a pump pulls water to stage 2, known as "Heating evaporation and carbonation", which consists of pumping water through an electric heat and a cooling pipe before being deposit into a kind of chamber where carbon dioxide is added.
Once carbon dioxide is added, a long tube connects stage 2 with stage 3. During stage 3, or the mixing phase, water is transferred to a mixing tank where colouring, syrup and flavour are added. Water is then filtered again and transferred to bottles and cans (stage 4 - filtering and filling). Finally, the final product can be packed and transported to the supermarket (stage 5 - packaging).
