The diagram below shows the stages and equiment used in the cement-making process, and how cement is used to produce concrete for building purposes
The diagrams depict the ways in which cement and concrete are manufactured with specific tools. It also illustrates the role of cement in the process of making concrete for building purposes
Overall, while the first picture indicates 5 stages of cement production, beginning with crushing limestone and clay, and culminating in the packed cement; there are only 2 main stages related to the procedure of making concrete, which are adding the ingredients and mixing them in a specific machine
To begin with the manufacturing of cement, limestone and clay are together crushed by 2 rollers to turn into powder. Following this, the powder is mixed via a mixer before undergoing a heating process by going through a rotating heater with an addition of heat from the outside. This mixture is then ground by a grinder to become cement which is then packaged in bags and ready to use
Looking at the second illustration, it is apparent that cement is one of the main ingredients used to produce concrete. The first step is to add 15% of cement and 10% of water, with 25% of sand and 50% of small stones which are also referred as gravel into a concrete mixer. Then, this machine just need to spin around to create concrete
