The given bar chart presents data on the average daily minimum and maximum levels of sulfur dioxide and nitrous oxide in Los Angeles, Calcutta, Beijing and Mexico City in the year 2000. Overall, the average daily levels of SO2 production in Mexico City and Los Angeles are higher than their N2O levels while the trend was reversed in Beijing and Calcutta, where the amount of air pollutants stemming from N2O gases were overwhelming.
In terms of SO2 production, Los Angeles had the least amount, around two micrograms per m3 minimum and 10 micrograms maximum. Mexico City was the most polluted with SO2 levels. The maximum SO2 emissions in the city were 200 micrograms, double that of Beijing and twenty times more than Los Angeles. There were only 12 micrograms of SO2 differences between the maximum and minimum levels of this gas in Calcutta.
The figure standing for the minimum level of nitrous oxide pollutant in Beijing was the least among four cities at 14 micrograms per m3.The same trend applied to the maximum level of this gas where Mexico City led with 207 micrograms N2O per m3. The following cities were Los Angeles, Beijing, Calcultta which had 104, 54 and 52 micrograms N2O per m3 respectively.
