The table compares five major countries in terms of number of tourists and tourist expenditures over two years.
Overall, over the span of two years, the number of tourists and revenue earned from it increased significantly where only China showed a different trend. It is also seen that France is the most popular tourist destination among the five places. However, The highest revenue was made by the USA.
From a detailed analysis, in 2012, 83 million people visited France but later in 2013 this figure rose dramatically to 94.7 million which is around 12 million more visitors. The same trend was followed by the rest of the countries except China. While the numbers for the USA and Spain increased approximately 3 millions and Italy saw around a 2 million rise, China experienced a decline from 57.7 millions in 2012 to 56.7 millions in 2013.
On the other hand, the figure for the tourist spendings in the USA was 126.2 billions in 2012 and later in 2013, with an increment of around 9 billion dollars, it stood at 139.6 billions. Subsequently, France, Spain and Italy witnessed the similar trend and saw a rise near about 2 to 4 billions over the time. Interestingly, in spite of a decline in the number of tourists, China earned almost 2 billion more money than the previous year.
