The chart illustrates the percentage of people who is over 64 in three different nations from 1940 till 2040. Namely: Japan , Sweden and USA.
Over the period shown there were and there will be many changes in these three countries.
In 1940, the percentage of Japanese, Swedish and American people who had over 64 were 5, approximately 7 and 9 respectively. The observation shows that there were major increase in percentage of population from 1960 till 1980 in USA and Sweden. The former was about 9 % to 15 % , the later was about by 7 % to 14 %. However, in 1960 there were minor decrease to about 3 % and these number stayed the same in Japan in 1980.
In 2000,there were little rise in the percentage of Swedish and Japanese people to about 16 % and 4 % respectively. Conversely, the proportion of Americans decreased to roughly 14 %. After 2020, we can see that there is likely to be dramatic increases in all 3 countries. The percentage of population in Sweden, Japan and USA are predicted to shoot up to 25 and approximately to 27 and 24 respectively.
