The illustration depicts tea and coffee purchasing and consuming patterns of citizens of five Australian cities during the last four weeks reported in a questionnaire.
Overall, going to the cafe was the favorite option in most of the cities, with the exception of Adelaide. It is also evident that the demand for instant coffee was persistently higher than that for fresh coffee.
A more inclusive look at the bar chart reveals that cafes’ drinks were predominantly favored by people in the cities of Sydney, Melbourne, and Hobart, with approximately two-thirds of the populations reported to enjoy. Whilst almost 55% of Hobart residents bought instant coffee, such a commodity was purchased by less than half of Sydney and Melbourne populations. The two cities registered 44% and 42% respectively in the percentage of citizens buying fresh coffee.
Meanwhile, instant coffee was the dominant in Adelaide, with the statistic of 50%, 1% higher than that of cafes. The city shared a similar 34% figure of people choosing fresh coffee with Brisbane. Having drinks at cafes accounted for the largest percentage of over 55% in Brisbane, with a 3% difference compared to instant coffee.
