The line graph demonstrates the mean number of travellers who get to work using car, bus, and train over the course of 60 years from 1970 to 2030.
Overall, it is clear that car was the most popular genre of transportation and train was the least used mode of transport. However, the latter has been predicted that it would become the second most favourite vehicle for commuters.
Having looked at the bar chart more closely for details, from 1970 to 1980, the number of car, bus, and train users remained stable, at roughly 5,4,2 million commuters respectively. Between 1980 and 2000, the proportion of car travellers witnessed a dramatic rise from 5 million to approximately 7 million people while the figure for bus dipped slightly, from 4 to under 4 million people. The data for train commuters experienced a marginal increase, from 2 to precisely 3 million passengers.
From 2000 to 2030, the extent of car owners stayed unchanged at seven units for a decade, followed by a significant increase and peaked at 9 nine units in 2030. A similar pattern was seen in the number of train passengers. It remained stable at three million users for ten years, then surpass the number of bus passengers and reach its peak at 5 million people. The data for bus commuters will decline gradually and hit a low of nearly three units.
