Overall, around the half population of the city prefered to travel by cars, while bus and taxi are not much popular among the citizens. Numerous people are using the car for work purposes rather than shopping and entertainment activities.
To begin with, the car is the most popular vehicle in Edmonton city. 45% of people are using cars during the travelling. The second position is gotten by the light rail transit. Bus and taxi, however, both get the similar ratio only 10% of people, who are using these modes of transport.
Moreover, the population of Edmonton city use the car for various reasons. One of the major reasons is that people are commute to work by car, and just over a half of people are using cars in the city. Taking children and business are also included in the main reasons for using the car in Edmonton, yet there is a 5% difference between both reasons. Shopping and leisure activities have a similar ratio in the reasons for using the car.
