The bar chart compares the amount of money from games software, DVD or video and CDs sold worldwide from 2000 to 2003.
In general, as can be seen from the chart, there was an upward trend in the number of game software and DVDs while the figure for CDs saw a slight fall over the period shown. Moreover, the sales of DVDs witnessed a significant rise.
In 2000, the number of CDs products came first with 34 billion dollars, followed by the figure for DVDs with 18 billion dollars. The sales of CDs went down moderately over the next two years, 33 billion dollars in 2001 and 32 billion dollars in 2002. In 2003, the number rose slightly back to 33 billion dollars.
Additionally, the sales of DVDs increased constantly over the period, which rose from 18 to 31 billion dollars between 2000 and 2003. The number of worldwide games software went up only by 6 billion dollars over the next three years, from 12 billion dollars to 18 billion dollars, then remained unchanged in 2003.
