The line graph illustrates the proportion of car per household in Britain over the period of 40 years, starting 1990, with a projection to 2030
It can be clear that, the percentage of household car ownership fluctuated dramatically over ther period shown. Citizens tend to use one car in travelling, while two and more cars is predicted to increase significantly in the 2030.
In 1990, the figure for families with no cars stood at more 50 percents, compared with the percentage of one car and two cars or over coud be recorded approximately 35 percents and 10 percents respectively. After a sharply decrease, the year 2000 witnessed a free fall from 45 percents to nearly a third of total, whereas the proportion of people using more than one car increased dramatically by 20 after 10 years. Moreover, there was a moderate fluctuation in the figure for household having one car, but later hitting a highest point of 55 percents in 2005 and recovering back to nearly 40 percents in 2015.
Since 2020, the percentage of no-car commuter is predicted to be less than the figure foe families using cars and probably continue to decrase in the next 10 years. In the contracy, people having more than one car is forecast to increase considerably over 40 percents in 2030, which is similar to the esstimated figure for one-car household.
