Illustrated in the diagrams is the breakdown of the sales of buying each retail facet on the internet, namely travel, film/music, books and clothes in New Zealand during 10 years, starting from 2003.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that the online shopping sales of travel and clothes sectors underwent a sustainable increase whilst those of 2 remaining factors had a slight decrease.
In 2003, the online deals of traveling and clothing sectors accounted for over one-third and 24 percent respectively. These figures suddenly dropped to 29 percent and 16 percent for each previous sector by the time of 2013.
Conversely, there was a dramatic rise in the online buying sales of entertainment, in particular, film, music, and books sectors in the period of 10 years. The sales of film and music surged from about a quarter in 2003 to one-third in 2013 as well as those of books. The revenue of books showed a hike of 22% in 2013 from 19% in the past 10 the years.
