Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter to draw your attention to the accumulation of rubbish in our neighbourhood. My name is K Singh and I have been a resident at 14 Ford Drive, Oakville located in Eastlake for over 20 years. This is my first letter as I never had a reason to write earlier.
However, it is nearly a month since the municipality workers have not picked up garbage in Eastlake and the inconvenience caused due to prolonged worker’s strike is concerning.
The rubbish around every street of Eastlake neighbourhood is overflowing. This has resulted in limiting the parking spaces on streets, the walkways have a rancid smell which is so unpleasant that the residents are driving to other neighbourhoods to walk their dogs. Furthermore, we can’t open our windows to enjoy the fresh air as filthy air makes living indoor also unbearable.
I think there are several things that can be done on priority basis to ease the situation. Firstly, assign workers to alternate garbage pickup between neighbourhood. Although this will reduce the regular frequency from weekly to bi-monthly, an instant solution considering the worker’s strike. Secondly, offer residents a possibility to drop off recyclable items at the community centre backyard which is currently large unused area in Eastlake.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon on this matter.
Yours faithfully,
K Singh
