The given line graph illustrates the amount of expenditure visitors spent in New Zealand from 1996 until 2014. In addition, the expenditure is marked as NZ$ and visitors were from five countries including Australia, USA, UK, Japan and China.
Overall, there were significant growth in all categories excluding Japan and China which both had a slight increase. It needs to be noted that all five categories had their own fluctuations.
Australia had actually the highest expenditure in all time span starting from approximately 1,000 NZ$ reaching around 2,000 NZ$ in 1996 and 2014, respectively. China was almost the lowest category in general. However, during 2001 till 2005 the lowest expenditure was for UK which reached the lowest point at around 200 N2$ in 2002.
It also should be mentioned that although all five countries jumped in terms of expenditure, the last amounts being shown in 2014 were not the highest ones during their trajectory, whereas Japan until 2002 had a significant skyrocket peaking at 9100 NS$, subsequently it gained a downward trend turning 500 NZ$ in 2014. The deterioration in USA expenditure was also noticeable during 2011 to 2014 which it experienced a drop around 600 NS$.
