There are four lines representing CD player, mobile phone, home computer, and internet access percentages. According to the graph, upward trends in accessing sophisticated technology appeared at different degrees and CD player was the most accessed peripherals during the period.
A steady climb is seen on both CD player trend and home computer trend which ultimately reached 81% and 55% in 2002/03 respectively. Meanwhile, the precentages of mobile phone usages increased dramatically from below 20% in 1996/97 up to 70%, far above home computer usages in 2002/03. This significant rise shifted mobile phone from the least usage devices in 1996/97 to the second position after CD player. Regardless of the data absent in 1996/97, another significant rise appeared on internet access trend, starting from 10% in 1998/99, it jumped up to 45% in 2002/03.
The graph has shown us not only that people in UK were using technology more intensive in 2002/03 than they were in 1996/97 but also a cue of massive increasing of mobile phone and internet access in near future.
