Given is the diagram delineating how the hydroelectric power station generates electricity. Perceptibly, this is the linear process with multiple steps which commences with the water flows from river into a high-level reservoir where it is blocked by a dam, and ends with the power line being produced to the national grid.
Firstly, a high-level water reservoir was built overhead to create a height difference between the water level and turbines in the hydroelectric power station. The process is initiated when the water in the river flows into the reservoir and runs out the dam through an intake which is opened during the day and closed at night. In the day time, the water released from above to below creates pressure that causes turbines to rotate, pulling generators to rotate and generate electricity. The generated electricity follows the power line to the national grid. The next stage is a process that has the opposite task to the day, the excess water stored in the low-level reservoir is piped into the station and creates the force on turbines to pump the water back to the upper reservoir during night time. A new process continues to form a circulation that produces the world’s leading renewable energy source.
