Given is the bar graph compares five age groups in terms of the percentage of people accessing the Internet in Britain in the 2003-2006 period.
In general, the research demonstrates that the younger generation tended to spend more time online than the old groups. Besides, the number of Internet users increased in every age group over the period.
The 16-54 age group has a significant number of Internet users, chiefly the data of group 16-24 occupied 100% in 2005. There was a dramatic rise in the 25-54 age group, starting with 50% and 60% respectively, and then reaching 80% together at the end. The data of the 16-24 age group followed a different trend, when remaining at 80% for the first two years, going remarkably by 20% and decreasing slightly to 90%.
According to the leftover figures, there are two older age groups, divided into 55 to 64 and more than 65 years old. The figure for the 55-64 age group doubled that for another group, but it was by half when compared to the young. The most dominant data was for the 55-64 age group with approximately 50%.
